'Working together on what has to be done' |
Paul Schreurs
|
| |
Before becoming Corporate Finance Manager for Corporate Express in April 2007, Paul Schreurs was a controller with Bouwfonds Property Finance, where he took care of the financing of the property-financing portfolio. “Colleagues are ready to help and easily accessible. All the doors are always open. You can just walk into offices and you notice little of hierarchy. Working together on what has to be, is the culture around here. I feel very much at home. Everything goes very smoothly.”
“What interests me a lot is that this is a small headoffice of about 70 people who run an enterprise that operates throughout the world. It is also an advantage that we have a lot of media exposure. The terms of employment here are good. Pension plan contributions are entirely paid by the employer. Apart from that, there is a flexible lease arrangement: if your position comes with a company car but you choose not to take it, you can have the lease amount paid out. The only minus, for me personally, is the travelling time from Amersfoort, but of course that is not my employer's fault! ”
“Not long ago, I completed my postgraduate RC (Chartered Controller) training course, which I had started before I came to work here. I have been busy with it for two years. I will now follow a few internal courses; Business English and Personal Leadership appear first on the agenda. It is nice that Corporate Express offers these facilities. The international character of Corporate Express is also very attractive. You see, in the long term I would enjoy going abroad for a couple of years. Of course I have to wait and see if this opportunity actually arises, but within a company that operates on such a global scale there are probably opportunities.” |
