Since January 2007, Maartje van Tongeren has been working at Corporate Express in the Merchandising Department. First as Sourcing Specialist and now as Category Manager Paper.

"Compared to my previous employer, Corporate Express is a relief. Short communication lines, open office doors where you can simply walk in. My introduction was also well arranged, with many meet-and-greet-talks, in spite of the fact that I started directly after New Year. My job is busy and hectic, and I like it that way, because I’m at my best when I have many things to do.
I still have time for a private life and even for voluntary activities. For example, I am a Member of the Board of the Inter Company Association (ICA), an organisation of Young Professionals with 35,000 members. That is rather time-consuming, but Corporate Express offers me that space.

In a couple of years from now, I would like to go abroad for a longer period of time. After my studies, I spent one year in England and that has, among other things, contributed to how I view life. Corporate Express is active globally, so those chances are available."
