Community Involvement

Community involvement is universally encouraged and locally driven in all our businesses. In 2006, virtually every Corporate Express business sponsored or supported in some way initiatives on a local, regional, national and global scale. Our policy clearly excludes making payments to political parties and organisations, or to their representatives.

Community involvement at corporate level
For more than a century we have recognised that the interests of Corporate Express
and all its stakeholders are mutually dependent. We are selective in choosing the projects we provide with support, as we believe that we can make a bigger impact for the organisations involved through focused contributions. Donations of time and support to charities vary, depending upon the size of the operating companies concerned. At a corporate level, Corporate Express continues to support a number of initiatives, such as:

Preservation of cultural heritage
Performing arts
Disaster relief
Health care

North America
Corporate Express North America supported the Ciy of Hope cancer research facility and

the Junior Achievement initiative.

Australia
Corporate Express supported The Starlight Children's Foundation, the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick and Cando4kids-Townsend House.

United Kingdom
Donations were made throughout the year by Corporate Express to many local and national charities, including MacMillan Cancer Support and Children in Need. A number of charities and schools were also supported with donations of stationary and other gifts in kind.

Netherlands
Donated school materials to village communities in Bulgaria and our people collected five pallet loads of toys and office materials for Médicins Sans Frontières which were transported to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Germany
Our colleagues at Corporate Express Germany supported ‘Die Arche’, a Christian organisation which supports children and young adults who have no place to live and no food. They give them a place to live, food and education so that they can develop their talents and develop into self-reliant human beings.

Italy
In Italy our business Macchingraf funded the purchase of an ambulance for the Bollate local authority and made donations to support Christian Missions in the Third World, research against cystic fibrosis, and provide assistance to the old and infirm.
